Steve Walker
Supply Chain Solutions Director, EMEA CIO Middle East

Steve Walker was born in Manchester, England, although he spent most of his childhood in South Africa. After leaving school he returned to the UK in 1979, where he spent his formative years working in various logistics management roles for companies including, Rank Radio, Binatone, Laing Homes and Spring Ram.

Steve subsequently moved to soft drinks manufacturer, Cott Drinks Inc., with full responsibility for the UK supply chain. He joined the Ocean Group plc in 1999, in a global systems strategy role. Following Ocean’s merger with NFC (Exel Logistics) and the formation of Exel plc, Steve held a number of IS Director posts in various business units.

He is currently Supply Chain Solutions Director, EMEA for the recently formed DHL Exel Supply Chain business, following the acquisition of Exel by Deutche Post World Net. Following the completion of a MSc. in Distribution and Logistics at Cranfield University in 1998, Steve has regularly lectured at Cranfield and has until recently held the post of external examiner. Steve lives with his wife, Mary in Northamptonshire and has a son, David. When he is not working he enjoys watching his beloved Manchester United!
