Being a qualified management accountant, Ian has a background of finance but subsequently performed a large variety of roles in his 31 year career with Mitchells & Butlers.

His last 12 years have been involved with key change projects, including: integration of pub chain acquisitions, disposal of a large number of pubs to a lease company, rapid implementation of an EPOS solution into 500 acquired pubs from Allied Breweries, a large downsizing project, supply chain re-engineering (leading to the current Red Prairie implementation of the RP Retail Stock Solution) and latterly building and implementating a solution to deliver a step change in productivity across the 2000 Mitchells & Butlers Pubs and Restaurants.
